HELPING STOP THE SPREAD OF NON-NATIVE SPECIES
More than 180 non-native species have been introduced to the Great Lakes region, and many of them have been categorized as invasive, causing potential threat to native ecosystems and their populations. These species have potential risks to the region’s trout streams by degrading habitat, out-competing native species, and short-circuiting food webs. Our support will help partners like Trout Unlimited improve knowledge on these invasive species, minimize spread, better inform management activities, and raise public awareness in the Great Lakes.
